One of IBM Corp’s more promising alliances is the latest victim of the company’s purge of most of its joint venture investments. It was left to Deerfield, Illinois-based Baxter International Inc to announce that it and IBM had a definitive agreement to sell their IBAX Healthcare Systems – originally Spectrum Healthcare Solutions – joint venture to provide medical software and systems to HBO & Co, on undisclosed terms.
