IBM SEEKS TO WEAN NTT ONTO IDEA OF NETWORK COMPUTING

IBM Corp is seeking to woo Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp over to Network Computers, and as a first step is to join the Japanese majority state-owned phone company on a trial run of IBM’s Network Computer-related software over Nippon Telegraph’s Japanese phone lines. IBM will work on applications for one-stop billing, security and identification; the trial will last a year.
