IBM SAYS SALES OF ITS PS/2’S ARE ABOVE EXPECTATIONS

By CBR Staff Writer

IBM has responded to reports that orders for the Personal System/2 have been slow by reiterating the statement that orders were above expectations (CI No 698): the company says that reaction has been very positive and that high volume bids with major customers have been very encouraging; the company says that orders are ahead of supply, there is a large backlog of orders from its direct sales channels, and that dealers are placing special orders over and above their usual consignments.
