IBM Corp is to create a joint venture enterprise in Minsk, Belarus. IBM Russia will own 45% of the International Belarus Association – which gives the initials IBM in Cyrillic – a joint stock company. The computer equipment research and production amalgamation, NPO Vychislitelnoj Tekhniki, in Minsk is the main Belarus partner. The other partners are the Computer Equipment Research Institute, Minsky NII EVM, in Minsk, Peerless, India, and the Belcom joint venture enterprise. IBM Developers have already produced a Russian language version of the OS/2 operating system and interface products to integrate Belarus-built mainframes and IBM PS/2s.
