By CBR Staff Writer

IBM has responded quickly to the unexpected demand for larger models of the AS/400 with bigger disk capacities (CI No 986) by coming out with two additional AS/400 Total System Packages in the US. Described as advantageously priced and easy-to-install systems that ensure consolidated delivery of all components needed to make them operational, the two new offerings are of the mid-range 9406 Model P40 – a P40 is simply a pre-configured P40 but come with 2.55Gb and 3.4Gb of disk respect ively. Each base package includes system unit, disk and memory, modem for remote support and pre-loaded operating system. The customer chooses displays, printers and pre loaded licensed programs and system features he wants. The new bundles will be available from August 26.
