IBM Corp’s expanding the coverage of its TeamConnection repository for storing code and documentation generated by IBM and third party tools to support a range of platforms. Until now an OS/2-oriented product, TeamConnection 2.0 additionally supports AIX, NT and HP-UX servers in addition to OS/2 and Windows, and works from AIX, HP-UX and Windows clients. It can now build applications for AIX, HP-UX and Windows 95 in addition to MVS, OS/2 and NT which 1.x releases supported. In addition to the repository, which is based upon the Object Design Inc database, IBM’s group program development software also includes a slew of versioning and change management services. A further release next year will include a Java version of the Object Technology International Inc-derived Envy tools for small workgroups which currently bridge SmallTalk code into the repository.
