In an effort to persuade stubborn users to upgrade, IBM Corp yesterday sneaked out a new three-processor water-cooled ES/9000 model, the 832 which allows for increased flexibility in configuring the correct ES/9000 processor to meet the application requirements; associated model upgrades were also announced and the new and enhanced functions announced on February 9 for the 711-based processors have improved availability dates; the 832 is a three-way multiprocessor with two central processors on Side A and one on Side B; it is rated at 1.4 to 1.5 times the Model 821; it is out this month – and there is of course still no IBM price list.
