IBM PROMISES TOKEN RING, C FOR SERIES 1 MINICOMPUTER

Buried in this week’s announcements from IBM was a statement of direction revivifying another of the more moribund products in its line, the Series 1 minicomputer, whose designated role is now purely as a communications controller. The company is promising a Token Ring Adaptor for the so that it can function in server and communications gateway roles in a network of PS/2 and other machines. It also promises a Systems Applications Architecture compliant C language compiler for the EDX Event-Driven Executive.
