IBM PRICE SLASHES CAUGHT RIVALS ON THE HOP

IBM’s decision to slash prices on its mainframe Expanded Storage offerings clearly caught independent rivals EMC and Cambex, just up to the wire with alternatives, on the hop: here in the UK, Cambex was unaware of the cuts, while US employees of both were out for lunch; but at least Cambex was honest enough to suggest that it was a bit too soon to make a policy statement.
