Version 4.0 of IBM Corp’s VisualAge C++ applications development tool is due out in June, and will include incremental compiler technology, so that developers can selectively compile sections of their programs, hears InfoWorld. At the same time, IBM is expected to launch Version 3.0 of its VisualAge Team Connection Repository. The Repository will eventually be made compatible with IBM’s DB2 Universal Database. Faster versions of VisualAge for Java and VisualAge Smalltalk, are also expected, with the addition of CICs and MQSeries support for the Java tool and the addition of IBM’s VisualAge Modeler to both the Java and Smalltalk tools for the first time.
