We can expect some new-year announcements coming out of IBM Corp’s Sterling Forest, New York-based business recovery services relating to the extension of its service to other internet service providers, beyond its own IBM Global Network (IGN). The current network recovery service provides for re-routing of internet traffic to part of IGN while a problem is fixed with the customers’ internet access. Michael Solter, who is the business recovery service’s networking development project manager, says it needs the support of other ISPs in part to provide more capacity.
