IBM personal computer sales for the second half of 1990 are set to grow at a faster rate than the rest of the industry, Personal Systems general James Cannavino told Reuters: he expects PS/1 cannibalisation of sales of low-end PS/2s to be minimal and will not affect the street price of the PS/2 – but he didn’t exactly laud the PS/1 – it will age gracefully, but it won’t be a leading edge technology, he said.
