Looks like the boom fell with the end of the fourth quarter, and IBM is now finding it it much harder work to win additional business for the ES/9000s, and is offering trade ins on 308Xs and 4300s in the US, giving a credit to users trading in a qualifying processor and buying an ES/9000 processor, upgrading an ES/9000 processor; upgrading a 3090 to a 3090 J, T, or ES/9000 processor, or upgrading a 9370 processor to an ES/9000 processor. The credit will depend on the model being replaced and the replacement processor or upgrade being installed.
