IBM Corp has come out with version 4 of its Internet Connection for Windows, saying the new release adds support for Windows 3.1 and Windows95; a high-performance VxD-based TCP/IP implementation; Point-to-Point Protocol support, enhancements to WebExplorer Mosaic; and the ability to print documents across the Internet.It enables users to browse the Internet with the Windows Internet Gopher, search databases on the Internet with Archie, send and receive mail, download files, and log on to other Internet computers with Telnet. It provides built-in access to IBM Internet Connection services for a free trial, and also provides a list of other Internet access providers for those that don’t want to go via IBM. Internet Connection for Windows version 4 carries a one-time list price of $40 but in the US, there is an introductory price of $25 until April 5 with additional licences charged at $20. It will be available in the US from tomorrow.
