IBM is still exercise about all those 308X machines still cheerfully doing their thing out there, and so in the US, it is offering a trade-in credit to eligible customers that buy a 3090 Model J processor or upgrade and trade in an IBM 3081, 3083, or 3084. The credit will vary depending on the processor model being replaced and the replacement 3090 processor or upgrade and no indication of what it is worth was given. The offer is available for 3090 J models from the 120J up, and upgrades installed on or after February 5, 1990, and on or before October 1. The 3090 or up grade must be ordered by August 1.
