By CBR Staff Writer

IBM Corp is reportedly looking for cash from investment bankers to help take its web software affiliate, NetObjects, public. Last year, Big Blue took a majority stake, about $100m, in the company, which specializes in developing software for building and publishing web sites. According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, NetObjects, which operates as an independent company, hopes to raise between $35m and $40m through the IPO. Other investors in the firm include Perseus, AT&T Ventures, Norwest Venture Capital, Venrock Associates and Rae Technology among others.
