IBM announced yesterday that it is working with nine business partners to develop applications based on its ImagePlus system for MVS/ESA and OS/400. The new applications will be pitched at financial, insurance, media and public sector clients. MVS developers are Continuum Co, life insurance; Policy Management Systems Corp, property and casualty insurance. OS/400 developers are ALE Systems, mortgage loans; Business Records Corp, land records; Complex Systems, trade finance transactions; DST Systems, financial services; HTE Inc, building code enforcement for local government; McCracken Computer, an agency management system for insurance; Professional Impressions, job control and customer service for commercial printers. The new ImagePlus applications will be developed by year-end, and whatever is ready will be demonstrated at the Association for Information and Image Management show in Chicago in April.
