IBM Corp is to integrate video imaging and search products from Virage Inc into its media asset management system, following a development agreement signed between the two on Friday. The partnership appears to have been spurred on by a contract from The Image Bank, the Eastman Kodak Co subsidiary, and one of the world’s largest stock image services. Image Bank will use the combined technology to digitize and catalog its stock footage, which includes millions of individual photographs and millions of feet of motion picture film. Virage, based in San Mateo, California, has developed VideoLogger and AudioLogger software for real-time indexing and distribution of video across the internet or corporate intranets.
