Omron Ltd has awarded a facilities management contract with IBM Japan Ltd subsidiary IBM Japan Services covering running of its mainframe systems. The value of the deal is $96m, making it the biggest facilities management contract in IBM Japan’s history. Omron says it hopes to save about 10% of its total costs by outsourcing the work.
