IBM JAPAN, NIPPON STEEL CREATE JOINT VENTURE

By CBR Staff Writer

IBM Japan is teaming up with Nippon Steel Corp to create a joint venture to develop systems using IBM’s low end computers: the move follows liaisons between IBM Japan and other industrial companies such as Nissan Motors and Omron Tateishi in the motor industry, and with banks such as Tokai Bank and Hokkaidoo Takushoku Bank; Nippon Steel wants to diversify from a declining heavy industry.
