IBM Japan is buying new generation liquid crystal diode displays from Seiko-Epson Corp that apply a new technology called the New Twist Nematic system, which Epson claims is two to three times clearer than with traditional LCDs, while the speed at which the LCD moves from one screen to another is said to be much faster: IBM Japan is using the LCD for its PS/55 Model 5535 lap-top, an 80286-based member of the Japanese PS/2 family.
