Unlike Graham Gooch at Lord’s, IBM is not going to trouble the scorers much this week, and its only contribution to the gaiety of nations in its regular Tuesday announcement is that the 44Mb and 70Mb versions of the PS/2 Models 60 and 80 disappear from the price lists on October 31 in the US, and in the meantime are going cheap while stocks last. The 80286 machines are cut 34% to $2,750 with 44Mb, $3,085 with 70Mb; the 80386 models fall 26% to $4,000 with 44Mb disk drive and 26% to $4,500 with a 70Mb disk.
