IBM Corp stirred its Windows NT pot yesterday, adding a $9,775 300MHz desktop system to its IntelliStation M Pro Intel-based workstation family. The 2D or 3D 266MHz version was claimed to be the fastest Intel system available, and the new 300MhZ model has 128Mb to 512Mb of memory, 512Kb cache and Intergraph Corp’s Intense 3D graphics accelerator with 20Mb memory. Both the 266MHz and 300MHz versions come preloaded with Windows NT 4.0, plus a range of management and security features like LANClient Control Manager and Assetcare. The system ships July 31.
