IBM HAS A FACULTY LOAN PROGRAM

Recalcitrant users will be child’s play for 88 of IBM’s US employees after the year they have ahead of them – they are going on loan to 28 states and the District of Columbia for at least one academic year to teach, conduct seminars, and generally muck-in and help out at educational institutions for minority and disadvantaged students: it’s all part of the company’s Faculty Loan Program under which nearly 800 employees have been loaned to 188 institutions since the programme began in 1971, while nearly $78m in cash, equipment, and employee support was donated in the US in 1986 alone.
