IBM Corp has called in Motorola Inc to help it to improve its CMOS proccess, and both companies intend to use the results to fabricate future generations of the most advanced PowerPC chips. Although the focus of the effort will be PowerPC microprocessors, the new high-performance process will be used to fabricate chips for the computer, consumer and communications markets.
