The joint venture on interconnection of heterogeneous networking systems announced by IBM and the Sesa SA subsidiary of Cap Gemini-Sogeti SA in February 1987 is thought to have been quietly disbanded by IBM. Sesa was to have had 51% of the venture with IBM France holding the balance. The assumed rupture is being attributed to the changed climate following the accession of the new socialist government after the election: Bull was extremely unhappy at IBM France’s formation of a systems integration joint venture with Cap-Gemini-Sogeti, and IBM is thought to have decided not to try to push its luck with Sesa.
