IBM United States this week formed a new division to be responsible for worldwide development and US manufacturing of all IBM storage products, high-end printers and related software. The new Storage Systems Products Division goes to IBM vice-president Ray AbuZayyad who will report to Carl Conti, IBM senior vice-president and general manager, Enterprise System line of business. AbuZayyad was president and chief executive of Rolm Systems of Santa Clara, California but has returned to IBM. The new division will have its headquarters in Somers, New York. Our new Storage Systems Products Division brings together all of IBM’s storage products under a single management focus and will help us become more market-driven in the storage marketplace, explains Terry Lautenbach, senior vice-president and general manager, IBM United States. Patrick Toole, IBM senior vice-president, has been named general manager, operations IBM United States, a new position, reporting Lautenbach; he was general manager, Technology Products. Paul Low, IBM vice-president, was named general manager, Technology Products, also reporting to Lautenbach. He was president of the Gener al Products Division. Our headquarters realignment allows us to place even greater management focus on the continuing trans formation and consolidation of IBM’s US operations, Terry Lautenbach suggested.
