IBM in the US issued a statement in response to our Monday story suggesting hold-ups in 3090-300E and 600E shipments (CI No 747) as follows: The statements about IBM missing shipment dates for the 3090s are absolutely untrue: IBM is meeting is its committed shipment dates on 3090 models, including the 300E and 600E. We expect to meet our third quarter and full-year 3090 targets. The statement asserts that IBM has not missed any shipment dates on 300E or 600E boxes, but does not address the companion allegation in the story that there have been problems with these machines once installed. IBM had not come back with a response on this by the time we closed for press.
