IBM Espana SA has signed an agreement with the Catalan company T&G Iberica SA for IBM SAC to sell the CG/IFS financial and accounting software developed by T&G Creative Group SA. It is also the first agreement to be struck under a new co-operative marketing programme offered by IBM to software houses. Called ASAP/CSMP, the new programme enables all IBM’s direct sales operations, as well as any of its agents will be able to offer clients products covered by the agreement, with guaranteed pre sales support from the product’s originator. Once a company has placed an order with IBM, the user’s licence contract will be signed between the client and the marketing company which will also install the system and offer product support and services. At the moment there are over 600 CG/IFS packages for AS/400s, System/38s and System/36s installed in Spain. T&G Iberica has also made some ground in the area of personnel management, having recently adapted its GP/HRS package, which runs on the 36 and 38 models, bringing some success with customers such as Mesena Tec y Servicio (part of the Banco Espanol de Credit Group), ABB Energia (part of La Casera Group), Hilaturas Prouvost (part of Pinguin Esmeralda) and Gouvani Industrial. The business management package ranges from the small model B-10, costing $12,800, to the B-60 at $34,200.
