IBM: ELEVATION FOR ARMSTRONG AS McKINNEY GETS EUROPE

By CBR Staff Writer

Kap Cassani is relinquishing his position as IBM vice-chairman and will return to Europe wearing his other hat of chairman and president of IBM World Trade preparatory to his retirement next year. Accordingly, Michael Armstrong, who has been running Europe as chairman, returns to the US, where he is elevated to the IBM Management Committee and adds responsibility for IBM World Trade Americas and Asia/Pacific as well as Europe/Middle East/Africa. And senior vice-president David McKinney takes over in Europe, becoming president and chief executive of World Trade Europe/Middle East/Africa, and managing director, IBM Europe. He was in charge of corporate operating staffs; no new vice-chairman was named.
