IBM DOWN – COMPAQ, TANDY, TANDON, AMSTRAD AND APRICOT UP

How did the people who have to back their snap reactions with hard cash place their bets? Here there was much more unanimity: IBM slumped $2.375 to $148.375, Compaq rose $1.50 to $31.125, Tandy gained $1.125 to $49.125; Tandon put on $0.25 to $5.50, and over here, Amstrad rose 8 pence to 185 pence and Apricot added sixpence to 88p.
