IBM, DOUBLE BLUFF?

The news that IBM Corp is considering selling what’s left of the old Federal Systems Division raises the thought that perhaps we’ve all got the company wrong, that its much brighter than anyone thinks, and knows that it can’t make money out of systems integration and facilities management, government or commercial: what if its strategy all along has been to stuff the Integrated Systems Solutions Co with vast long-term contracts all won by being the low bidder, thus building a business that has all the appearance of being extremely valuable – with the intention of finding a buyer for it, thus solving its looming cash crisis at a stroke?
