IBM has discovered a possible safety problem with the mains cables for one model of the PS/2 sold in the US. Canada, Latin America and some parts of Asia – but anyone with a duff cable will know at once because when it’s used, the machine won’t operate; although only a few appear to be affected, it is offering free replacements to all users and dealers; there have been no reports of electrical shocks from the defective cords, situations may exist in which users could be exposed to potential electrical shock or injury, the company cautions.
