IBM cuts prices on notebooks and Netfinity PC Servers IBM Corp says it has cut prices by between 8% and 32% on selected models in its ThinkPad notebook, Netfinity server, PC server 330 and PC 300GL product lines. The ThinkPad 310 has been cut by 11% and now starts at $1599 while the ThinkPad 560 has been reduced by 27% to $1,599, with the ThinkPad 380 cut by 25% to $1,499. At the high end the company has lopped $2000 off the price of its ThinkPad 770 which is now priced at $5,199. The high-end Netfinity server has seen price cuts of 29%, from $15,975 down to $11,389. Meanwhile, the company reduced prices on its PC server line by up to 32%. An IBM spokesperson said the price cuts were a reaction to Intel Corp price cuts earlier in the month (CI 3,338).
