Intel Corp must have had a few worries about the rise of Java and the Network Computer – a move that poses a threat to the future of the PC. But now IBM Corp, whose NCs run on PowerPC processors, is looking at the low end of Intel’s Pentium range as a possible alternative. Intel is already offering to help those who write Java code make sure their programs maximize the potential of Intel processors.
