Intel Corp, which had scheduled the formal announcement of its hot N-10 64/32-bit RISC microprocessor – as the i860 – last night, is believed to have had endorsement of the part from IBM Corp, AT&T Co, Ing C Olivetti SpA, Prime Computer Inc and Microsoft Corp. Olivetti is tipped to use the part in forthcoming models of its LSX3000 line of business computers, and IBM to be planning to offer it as a PS/2 co-processor. Preview of UniForum – see page two.
