IBM AND WILLEMIJN HOLDING RENEGOTIATES LICENCE AGREEMENT

IBM Corp and Willemijn Holding BV say they have successfully renegotiated their licence agreement under the Soderblom token ring patents to enable IBM to sell licensed token ring boards for use in non-IBM kit; IBM was previously permitted to sell the local net boards only for use in its own personal computers; other licensees of the technology include AT&T Co, NCR Corp, Harris Corp, 3Com Corp, Ungermann-Bass Inc, Racal Electronics Plc, Matra SA, NEC Corp, Fujitsu Ltd, Hitachi Ltd and Toshiba Corp among others.
