IBM AND SAA

By CBR Staff Writer

It is as important for IBM that software developers believe in its Systems Applications Architecture as it is that users are persuaded of its merits, but the worry for the latter is that they may be aiming at a moving target: Computer Systems News quotes one – anonymous – software developer saying he can’t believe that the OS/2 Presentation Manager conforms to SAA It’s too [PC-] DOS-like – I can’t believe windowing software is expected to look like that throghout the line; the developer speculates that another version of the Presentation Manager, or a like product, using more of the PS/2s capabilities, must be down the road apiece.
