IBM Japan Ltd and Matsushita Elec?tric Industrial Co Ltd have agreed to co-operate in providing global network services. The two plan to expand such services as value-added networks from April and personal computer on-line communications services at a later date. Matsushi?ta will allow IBM Global Network customers to use some of its Pana-VAN services and vice versa. The two companies said they would share some communications technology, such as Matsushita voice services, while Matsushita sees IBM’s exper?tise in global value-added network services as a way to help expand its network services to the general market from limited use among its family of companies. Final details of the pact are yet to be decided.
