According to the agreement, Aircraft Braking Systems Corporation (ABSC) will extend Smarteam, an IBM product lifecycle management (PLM) program developed by Suresnes, France-based Dassault Systemes, in an effort to facilitate engineering collaboration and knowledge management in its programs.
In addition, Smarteam is expected to help support mission-critical concurrent engineering processes across ABSC’s design team, including management of FEA associativity and analysis models, and of the multiple Catia V5 files generated by these processes.
ABSC added that it is organizing a strategy team to define a clear division of labor between Smarteam PLM and its ERP system, and will be extending the product to manufacturing teams in the hope of increasing efficiency, reducing costs and speeding product development.
