The new 2.1.1 release of the GDDM Graphics Data Display Manager adds new functions supporting DOS/VSE batch, enhanced image printing, and composite document printing. It runs under MVS, VM and DOS/VSE, and costs $225 a month, and is also available on graduated one-time licences for the VM and DOS/VSE versions only, at $2,700 on Group 10 to $10,800 on Group 40. All three versions will be out in the US by June. GDDM REXX for Restructured Extended Execution creates an interface to the VM interpreter, enabling applications written in REXX to contain GDDM calls for prototyping and applications development. Available now, it costs $100 a month or a one-time $1,200 on Group 10 rising to $4,800 on Group 40 processors. And, holding good on a 1984 statement of direction, IBM has added support for the Graphics Kernel System applications programming interface as an additional option in GDDM. Available now, it costs $200 a month or a one-time $2,400 on Group 10 to $9,600 on Group 40. Wrapping up the new software in the announcement, IBM has added a Purchasing Application to the Maapics 2 manufacturing package for System 38. It costs $12,500 and $625 a month, goes on controlled release in June, general release in September. There is also new Inventory Management for Process in Maapics 2 at $23,000 and $1,150 a month; and a Location/Lot Management application at $5,700 and $285 a month.
