By CBR Staff Writer

The new 2.1.1 release of the GDDM Graphics Data Display Manager adds new functions supporting DOS/VSE batch, enhanced image printing, and composite document printing. Available now, it costs $100 a month or a one-time $1,200 on Group 10 rising to $4,800 on Group 40 processors. And, holding good on a 1984 statement of direction, IBM has added support for the Graphics Kernel System applications programming interface as an additional option in GDDM. Available now, it costs $200 a month or a one-time $2,400 on Group 10 to $9,600 on Group 40. Wrapping up the new software in the announcement, IBM has added a Purchasing Application to the Maapics 2 manufacturing package for System 38. It costs $12,500 and $625 a month, goes on controlled release in June, general release in September. There is also new Inventory Management for Process in Maapics 2 at $23,000 and $1,150 a month; and a Location/Lot Management application at $5,700 and $285 a month.
