By CBR Staff Writer

IBM yesterday announced the NetView File Transfer Program MVS, SQL/88 for its System 88 version of the fault-tolerant Stratus XA2000 machines, and a string of enhanced versions of its electronic typewriters. NetView File Transfer Program MVS is the successor to IBM File Transfer Program 2.2 MVS for SNA/370 environments, and is designed for high performance bulk data transfer between 370 hosts under SNA. The base product is already available, the Advanced Functions Feature will follow in the fourth quarter. SQL/88 mirrors the Stratus announcement of two weeks ago, using technology from Sybase Inc. Further details, and details of the Wheelwriters and Personal Typing Systems will be given soon.
