IBM Corp says its sales in China will grow by at least 50% this year on the back of booming demand for personal and office computers: we have been growing by at least 50% for the last several years, it said – in 1995 we grew by 60% and we expect to top 50% this year, – but the company is not actually making money there: sales should exceed $500m this year but IBM is still not turning an overall profit after nearly 17 years in China; it is spending well in excess of $100m a year to suppor t its growing infrastructure on China’s mainland.
