IBM strengthens its ability to deliver advanced technologies and services to its client

By CBR Staff Writer

IBM has launched three regional offices in India, one in Dehradun (North India), second in Guwahati (Eastern India) and third in Raipur (Central India), taking the total to 18 branch offices across India to date.

IBM is strengthening its ability to deliver more advanced technologies and services to its clients and partners across the country by extending its network of regional branches.

IBM is working with its business partners to provide small and medium enterprises with the tools they need to compete in a global economy.

IBM Guwahati branch office IIT Guwahati director Gautam Baruah said the Indian Institute of Technology in Guwahati is committed to developing a next generation of business and technology skills which are in line with today’s business requirements.

"IBM has been closely working with IIT and other universities across the country to improve and evolve IT skills based on open standards and we look forward to increasing our partnership especially in emerging fields such as cloud computing and business analytics," said Baruah.

IBM India/South Asia Geographic Expansion General Business vice-president Nipun Mehrotra said these are dynamic times for Indian regional development and there is tremendous market potential in these cities that IBM is expanding into.

"We are seeing increasing demand for advanced technologies as business and government leaders transform the way they work and look for ways to gain competitive advantage," said Mehrotra.
