IBM buys UK based image technology provider Daeja

IBM plans to integrate Daeja into its software group as well as Enterprise Content Management business

IBM has acquired the UK-based image processing technology provider Daeja Image Systems for an undisclosed amount.

The transaction is expected to support IBM’s big data capabilities to help organisations find insights in new types of data and content to be more responsive and competitive.

Following the acquisition, IBM plans to integrate Milton Keynes, UK based Daeja into its software group as well as Enterprise Content Management (ECM) business.

With the combined technology is expected to help IBM serve clients with instant access to critical data in order to increase productivity at anytime and from anywhere.

IBM Enterprise Content Management Business leader Doug Hunt said, “The acquisition of Daeja will simplify how business data is viewed by department or line-of-business users.”

Daeja CEO Stu Moss said the company has integrated its applications with that of IBM for over a decade.

“With our combined strengths, we can help clients manage their data challenges and directly enhance IBM’s key market initiatives for big data, mobile, and content management,” Moss added.

Daeja Image Systems provides software to businesses that helps viewing various document and image file formats, even if the native application is not present on the local devices, which saves time and enables social collaboration as well as document sharing across the organisation.
