Goodness me, that John Sculley is a tease: the Apple Computer Inc chief executive told USA Today that he expects to leave the company, although any such plans are not imminent: the paper said Sculley has privately discussed pursuing other opportunities, but said he would stay at Apple long enough to ensure it can go on for years and years – I’ve decided that right now I want to be at Apple… I’ll known when the time is right, it quotes him as saying, adding that he would prefer to run his own high-tech company on the East Coast; Sculley is quoted as saying he entertained an incredible range of offers to leave Apple in the past 12 months, with American Express Co as well as IBM Corp seeking his services – as reported, the IBM deal fell through because Sculley wanted it to merge with Apple and sell off mainframes.
