i-mate, a global manufacturer of Windows Mobile devices and related peripherals, announced the launch of its Ultimate range of wireless devices, consisting of Ultimate 6150, 8150, 8502, and 9502, in the Americas.
The devices include features such as eXtended Graphics Array (XGA) direct video out, built-in GPS, Custom i-Q for provisioning, configuring the mobile devices for IT administrators and system integrators, and secured access with the security device management software. The device runs on Windows Mobile 6 operating system.
The Ultimate range is targeted at consumers and business users seeking functionality and style. The Ultimate 6150 is a PDA with a 2.8-inch VGA touch screen, while the Ultimate 8150 features both a VGA touch screen and dial keypad. The Ultimate 8502 and 9502 have a 2.6 and 2.8-inch sliding VGA touch screen, respectively, with a full QWERTY keypad.
The Ultimate 6150 and 8150 will be available directly through i-mate’s national distributors and resellers in early November 2007, for a retail price of approximately $695 and $725, respectively. The Ultimate 8502 and 9502 will be available later in the fourth quarter of 2007.

The company launched i-mate Ultimate 6150 and 8150 devices in the Middle East in September 2007.
In October 2007, Sprint launched HTC’s touch screen products in the US. The launch of the new Ultimate range of touch screen devices in the Americas highlights the growing demand for touch screens in cell phones.
