Another Hyundai Elecronics America company, Colorado Springs-based Symbios Logic Inc, is the latest to sign up for Advanced RISC Machines Ltd’s ARM RISC. Symbios Logic is the former NCR Microelectronics, which specialises in interface devices such as disk controllers, and has licensed the ARM7TDMI Thumb 32-bit RISC processor design. It will use the processor in input-output channel controllers and other intelligent peripherals for moving and storing data. According to Dataquest Inc, Symbios Logic holds 28% of the worldwide SCSI chip market, and is a leader in the production of OEM RAID disk array controllers.
