South Korean Hyundai Electronics America Inc’s San Jose, California-based workstation division, Axil Workstations, has reached an out-of-court settlement with Sun Microsystems Inc over the lawsuit that Sun filed against it back in April, charging that an ex-Sun employee had taken layout plans from Sun and used them to design Axil’s 230 board and possibly the Axil 310 Sparcstation 10-compatible. Axil was served with a restraining order and is now shipping a clean version of the 310 workstation – the 311 – and will deliver a redesigned 230, the 235, shortly. The settlement called for Axil to stop making and selling the 230.
