Hyperion Solutions Corp, the US analytical applications provider, has apparently banned its staff from speaking to online and wire publications. The edict follows reports in the US press in which Hyperion says it was quoted out of context. It sent out commands to press departments worldwide, warning of what it called flamograms and barring communication with internet newspeople.
Despite the Ostrich tactics, Sunnyvale, California-based Hyperion has released Allocations Manager, an online analytical processing (OLAP) tool enabling enterprises to track and control revenue and costs across their various departments. Allocations Manager runs on Hyperion’s Essbase application server. Hyperion is touting one customer, Credit Lyonnais Americas, the US arm of the French financial institution. Further details were not forthcoming.
